The hour-long programme is based on the work of leading scientists, archaeologists and historians, and featured Stephanie Leonidas and Reece Ritchie as members of the Bronze age civilisation. The film was narrated by Tom Conti, and made its debut on BBC One on Sunday 8 May 2011.

Despite their newfound fame after slaying the Minotaur, the boys are still penniless and hungry. When an old man asks them to find his missing daughter, things seem on the up, but it soon becomes clear that their task will not be an easy one; she has been taken by the Maenads, fanatical worshippers of the god Dionysus. With the hopes and life of the old man fading, it is a race against time that Jason cannot turn his back on. In 1620 BC a gigantic volcano in the Aegean Sea stirred from it's 19,000-year sleep. The eruption ending up destroying the island of Thera producing huge tsunamis that flooded the island of Crete.
