A typhoon causes disasters in the city. Floods and fallen trees slow down Xu Qin and Song Yan from rescuing civilians. At this moment, Mrs. Meng is trapped in her car under a collapsing tunnel. Will rescuers get to her in time?
Zhai Miao holds the evidence to prove Yan Chen's innocence. The choice is in her hands whether to give it up and help the Meng family that ruined Song Yan's life, or do the same and destroy the Meng family.
Xu Qin finds out what her family did to Song Yan and confronts her parents. Meanwhile, Meng Yan Chen frankly tells Ye Zi his thoughts about her and makes her angry. So she comes up with a plan to take revenge on him.
A patient at the hospital gets worked up and injures Xu Qin's wrist. Meanwhile, despite being in an argument over his past, Song Yan still does not want to tell Xu Qin how he got his gunshot wound. Zhai Miao is worried for him and goes to see Xu Qin to help patch up their relationship.
Song Yan is being suspended from work due to accusations of bribery. A new development in Shilitai Fire and Rescue Station also makes Song Yan's decision to transfer waver. And Xu Qin starts asking for explanations of things that happened in the past.
A life is lost in the fire at Junguang Square, which is owned by Guokun Group. Song Yan has to decide whether to report about the truth of the fire which caused a death of his comrade. However, that decision will sow more discord between him and Xu Qin's family.
Xu Qin is having a difficult time because her mom is interfering with her work at the hospital. Meanwhile, Song Yan is preparing for his transfer. However, a huge fire breaks out with a flashover that endangers the firefighters' lives.
Song Yan tells Xu Qin his future plans for them. Everyone is busy preparing and celebrating New Year, but the firefighters are still on duty to protect people. Xu Qin also goes home to visit her family for New Year.
There's a cyanide leak at an electroplating plant. Firefighters are dispatched to save the three workers who have been poisoned and resolve the issue. However, Song Yan also gets poisoned during the process.
Yan Chen tries to persuade his mom to let Xu Qin live her life, btu she doesn't back down. She invites Xu Qin to go shopping with her as a pretense to introduce her to another guy. Later, a mother and son threatens to jump off the hospital building Xu Qin works at.
Xu Qin is welcomed warmly in the home of Song Yan's uncle and aunt. Xu Qin wants Meng Yan Chen to speak to their mom for her, but he refuses. Meanwhile, things seem to be progressing between Meng Yan Chen and Ye Zi.
Xu Qin confesses to her parents that she is dating Song Yan who highly disapprove of their relationship. As a result, she moves out from home into Song Yan's. His aunt and uncle welcome her happily.
Meng Yan Chen finds out that Song Yan and Xu Qin are back together and tries to discourage Song Yan from being with her. He feels like he's been abandoned since Xu Qin went to find her happiness. Meanwhile, Xu Qin has learned to appreciate the process even if there might be no good outcome.
Some firefighters struggle to get over their traumatic experience after providing the disaster relief at Wangxiang and are forced to overcome their anxiety by Yang Chi. Xu Qin is annoyed that Song Yan doesn't contact her for a day and doubts their relationship.
After the successful disaster relief operation, Song Yan and Xu Qin go back to their lives. However, they can't continue setting aside their feelings for each other anymore. Things are beginning to fall into place, even in Dr. Xu's work.
Meng Yan Chen's mom wants her son and husband to let people know about the help they've been giving to disaster relief. Meanwhile, Song Yan and Xu Qin are both exhausted from the disaster rescue. Then, Song Yan gets seriously injured.
Teams are organized to help with the disaster rescue of earthquake victims in Wangxiang. The place is in bad shape, with many collapsed houses and structures and missing people. That includes Jiang Yi's mom, who's in Wangxiang with her sister, Jiang Yi's aunt.
With the medical staff gone from the fire station, Song Yan misses Xu Qin even though he refuses to admit it. However, a fire drill at the hospital reunites them again. Meanwhile, Dr. Xu contemplates her profession.
Shilitai Fire and Rescue Station proposes a joint rescue effort with the city's First People's Hospital. Xu Qin volunteers to join the training. At the fire station, both firefighters and medical staff learn from one another to improve the efficiency and efficacy of rescue operations.
Since Xu Qin is reluctant to go on the blind date arranged by her mother, she arranges for the parents of both parties to meet. Xu Qin tells Jiang Yu that she has a crush on a man. He promises to help her.
Meng Yanchen finds Xu Qin in the hospital, and he meets Song Yan by chance. He warns Song Yan to keep his distance from Xu Qin. Song Yan understands what he means and tells him not to interfere with Xu Qin’s life since he is not her biological brother. Meng Yanchen advises her not to end the relationship with her family because of Song Yan.
In order to speed up the replacement of old teammates and new blood, Jiang Yu proposes an idea to Song Yan but he disagrees with him. Song Yan thinks a fire scene is extremely dangerous and the new blood don’t have enough experience so they only are the reserves. Jiang Yu just wishes to avoid more meaningless sacrifices between the firefighters.
Xu Qin speaks her mind to Meng Yanchen. She thinks she has been like a tame beast since she was a kid so she didn't dare to resist her mother and also doesn’t know what love is. Meng Yanchen proposes to her to go abroad with him but she refuses.
Due to her mother's strict discipline, Xu Qin hasn’t dared to disobey her mother since she was a child. Although she is independent now, she is still stressed and afraid of facing her mother. She asks Song Yan to come out. Song Yan already knows she is in a dilemma before she speaks. Therefore, Song Yan agrees to go back to square one.
Fu Wenying learns that Xu Qin doesn’t go on a date because of her busy work, and needs her to change her job. Xu Qin confesses that she has someone she likes. Fu Wenying warns Xu Qin not to force herself to be a villain again.
Suo Jun told Song Yan about his difficulty, and Song Yan finally understood why Suo Jun wanted to be transferred. Suo Jun also advised Song Yan to get married soon. The two settled their suspicions. Looking at the honors of the fire station and listened to the thanks of the girl he saved, he tore up the transfer application he had written.
Xu Qin learned that Song Yan was on vacation. So she came to his aunt's house again, hoping to reconcile with him. Song Yan refused. In the fire station, Song Yan complained to Suo Jun about the poor performance of the recruits. Song Yan firmly believed that he and Suo Jun could turn Shili Tai into the best fire station in the country. Suo Jun dodged his eyes.
