In the Arctic, the army retrieves a frozen spaceship, containing an alien. The alien is accidentally awoken by the soldiers, and introduces herself as Mumara. She instantly sets about to place everyone in the world into a deep sleep so that she can be sustained by their dreams. Luckily for Jessica, her spider-powers make her immune to Mumara sleep-inducing rays. However, in order to save everyone, Jessica becomes Spider-Woman and is left to enter the dream world to stop Mumara once and for all.

Jessica, Jeff and Billy take a ride out into the countryside, where they spot a black U.F.O. travelling in the sky above them. The Drew Laboratories are infiltrated by a bionic midget(!), who attempts to steal Dr. Alexander Drew's secret research journal. Spider-Woman shows up and stops him getting away with the book. Unbeknownst to her however, the bionic midget took photographs of the notes within the book using his bionic eye. He takes the pictures to his boss, Dr. Hagell, who then plans to steal genetically cloned flies from the Government Research Foundation. Off the coast of Norway, a cruise ship is almost sucked into a whirlpool.
